Following the first 1000-ft altitude flight in March 2019, ZeroAvia launched into a full flight test program. This flight's goal was to confirm certain performance characteristics of the powertrain, including maximum cruise power and speed.
Since airspeed affects the propeller and powertrain dynamics quite significantly, these tests were important to show adequate controllability of power and RPM parameters throughout the flight envelope. 152 KIAS sustained airspeed was reached at 260kW output power - completely on zero emission power source.
This performance matches stock aircraft, and translates to over 210 mph speed at the target operation altitude of 18,000 ft. This is the first such flight for an aircraft of this size (6 seats) worldwide.
