Bombardier expands across the Americas, creating thousands of jobs throughout its network and supply chain
Bombardier announced plans to further expand its presence across the United States, with the creation of 800 jobs supported by ongoing growth initiatives and strategic infrastructure investments. The company is currently recruiting for approximately 500 positions nationwide and expects to generate an additional 300 jobs through a series of facility expansion projects. Texas has been identified as a major growth market and is expected to account for 150 of those newly created positions.
Additional hiring will take place across Bombardier’s U.S. operations in Kansas, Indiana and Connecticut, where planned infrastructure developments will support long-term growth. The first phase of these investments is expected to total approximately $270 million, strengthening the company’s manufacturing, service and support capabilities while reinforcing its commitment to the American aerospace industry.
Eric Martel, President & CEO, Bombardier commented: “Our American service network is a key pillar of Bombardier's growth strategy. This new wave of expansion and hiring reflects our long-term confidence in this market and our employees in America. Based on our constructive conversations with the U.S. administration, we see a bright path forward for our highly skilled aerospace workers as well as a positive environment for Bombardier to continue pursuing direct investments to grow our American footprint.”
Bombardier’s recently inaugurated Learning Center in Wichita, Kansas, represents a key component of the company’s broader investment strategy in one of its most important U.S. aviation hubs. The new North American Learning Center underscores Bombardier’s commitment to workforce development, skills enhancement and the long-term growth of its Kansas operations.
Further supporting its expanding service network, Bombardier recently opened a new service facility at Fort Wayne International Airport in Indiana. Spanning approximately 64,500 square feet, the facility can accommodate up to six aircraft and provides both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, aircraft modifications, avionics upgrades and aircraft-on-ground (AOG) support. The company is also preparing additional expansion projects in Dallas, Texas, and Connecticut as part of its ongoing investment program.
In 2025, Bombardier’s U.S. operations supported approximately 27,200 jobs across the country through its manufacturing and service activities, as well as its extensive supplier network, where the company spent $2.8 billion. The economic impact extends well beyond Bombardier’s direct workforce, with every company position supporting an estimated seven additional jobs across the broader economy through supplier spending and household consumption.
As current hiring initiatives and expansion projects move forward, the total number of jobs supported by Bombardier’s U.S. activities is expected to surpass 33,000. The company maintains employees and operations across numerous states, including Kansas, Texas, Arizona, Florida, Connecticut, Illinois, Delaware, California, Washington, D.C., and New Jersey, while its broader employment footprint reaches more than 20 states nationwide.
Through continued investments in people, infrastructure and operational capabilities, Bombardier is reinforcing its commitment to supporting customers, strengthening local communities and contributing to the growth of the American aerospace industry.
