US maintenance, repair and overhaul company StandardAero has certificated and installed its first Rockwell Collins Synthetic Vision System (SVS) on a Dassault Falcon 2000 business jet. The installation was performed at StandardAero’s Springfield, Illinois facility as part of major overhaul of the large-cabin twin. The completed aircraft was handed over to an unnamed customer in October.

Other work included installing a new interior along with a Honeywell Ovation cabin-management system and replacing the twinjet’s outdated Pro Line 4 avionics suite with the latest Pro Line 21 flightdeck. “This upgrade provides increased situational awareness and enhances cockpit functionality, and is a prerequisite upgrade for FANS-1/A capabilities on Falcon 2000 aircraft,” says Scottsdale, Arizona-based StandardAero

Fans 1/A+ is required over some North Atlantic and Pacific routes and helps air traffic controllers handle growing levels of air traffic by reducing spacing between aircraft and ensuring a specific level of navigation accuracy.
