Sabena technics continues its development as a major player in the supply and maintenance of military helicopters. With its subsidiary Héli-Union, the core of the group's helicopter division, Sabena technics is expanding its industrial capabilities to support the French government and third-party fleets.
Well-established in the local ecosystem, Sabena technics, which provides technical assistance for Transavia flights and also relies on Heli Béarn, has expanded its maintenance capacity by building two new hangars to accommodate 7 additional heavy helicopters. In particular, these hangars will be used to maintain 5 ALAT Cougar helicopters in operational condition, all of which will be entrusted to the company.
Currently employing over 80 people, the Pau site, along with Toussus-le-Noble and Marseille, forms part of the Group's helicopter division. It represents one of Europe's largest, most flexible and efficient organizations for maintaining government helicopters in operational condition.
The decision to locate in Pau not only demonstrates the benefits of developing in regions with attractive, more favorable and stable employment prospects, and with attractive infrastructure solutions, but also the relevance and performance of co-located military and industrial organizations.
When Sabena technics inaugurated its new Boussiron hangar in Marseille last May, it announced that other hangars would follow. The group is demonstrating this today in Pau, and confirming other projects under study in France and Europe. This testifies to the exceptional civil and governmental demand for aircraft maintenance, and to the strong development opportunities available to Sabena technics.
