Astra Aviation has signed a ground handling agreement with National Aviation Services (NAS) in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire.

The agreement states that NAS will provide all physical ground handling, whereas Astra will handle and coordinate customer requests, managing the administration of payments for the airport, handling, navigation and crew costs.

“We wanted to work with National Aviation Services because we know they have made significant investment in staff training and in ground support equipment at the airport. That demonstrates commitment and professionalism, both attributes that reflect our own company ethos,” says Phil Eyre, managing director of Astra Aviation.

The agreement is the first time Astra has signed a full SGHA with NAS, and is the only flight support company with a SGHA at the airport.

Astra is also the first slight support company to sign an agreement ahead of the new Cote d’Ivoire government tariffs implemented at the beginning of September.
