Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) registered a year-on-year growth of 4.1 percent in passenger numbers in August 2015, according to data released by Beijing Capital International Airport Company Limited (BCIA) on Monday.
As many as 8.14 million passengers traveled through the airport in the past month, up 4.1 percent from a year earlier. The number of passengers travelling on domestic routes rose about 1.6 percent, with that on international and Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan routes climbing 11.4 percent year on year. Foreign airlines carried 8.7 percent more passengers than the same period last year.
In addition, the airport handled up to 51,540 aircraft movements, an increase of 2 percent compared with the same period last year. Domestic and international movements increased 0.9 percent and 5.8 percent respectively.
In the first eight months of 2015, PEK served about 393,300 aircraft movements and 60.19 million passengers totally, up 2.3 percent and 5.5 percent respectively compared with the same period last year.
