Authorities say an unruly passenger caused an American Airlines flight from San Jose, California, to Dallas-Fort Worth to be diverted to Phoenix.
Phoenix police say officers went to a gate Tuesday at Sky Harbor International Airport after Flight 2232 landed.
They were told by the crew that a 26-year-old passenger appeared to be intoxicated, became disruptive and had to be restrained.
Police removed the man from the plane but say the airline didn't want to prosecute.
The name and hometown of the man wasn't released by police because he wasn't arrested.
They say the passenger was sent to a Phoenix hotel with plans to catch another flight on Wednesday.
The flight later departed for Dallas-Fort Worth.
