A female passenger died after suffering undisclosed health issues on an Etihad Airways flight.
Etihad flight EY151 from Abu Dhabi to Chicago was diverted to Moscow on Wednesday because of a medical emergency involving a female passenger, the airline said in a statement.
The passenger died despite attempts by medical teams to revive her, the statement said.
“Etihad Airways offers its deepest condolences to the family of the guest," the statement said.
The flight was expected to depart from Moscow at midday UAE time, landing in Chicago at 1.35pm.
Where necessary, affected guests are being rebooked on the earliest flights out of Chicago to their final destinations.
