LATAM Airlines continues to strengthen its product by confirming the launch of its new London - Lima route. This operation, subject to government approval, will start operating on December 2, with 5 frequencies per week (Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays). Operated on a Boeing 789 with a flight time of 12 hours, this route will link Peru's capital to London and Europe. The modern Boeing 789 has a capacity of 30 passengers in the Premium Business cabin and 270 in the Economy cabin.
Davide Ioppolo, Regional Sales Director for Central and South-Eastern Europe, the UK, Nordic countries, the Middle East and South Africa, commented: "We are delighted to have set up this operation. With our direct flights between London Heathrow International Airport and Lima, we are reaching a historic milestone for LATAM Airlines, becoming the only airline to fly directly to Peru from the UK. This, together with our existing service to Sao Paulo, takes us to 12 weekly frequencies from the UK, and reinforces our position as the best option for passengers wishing to travel to South America, with 143 destinations in 22 countries."
Ross Baker, Heathrow's Commercial Director, said: "We are delighted to welcome LATAM's new service to Lima at Heathrow, the UK's only direct service to Peru. With simplified visa access and joint CPTPP membership, British passengers and exporters will benefit from this direct service. Whether travelling to explore historic sites such as Machu Picchu, or opening doors to develop trade, we look forward to welcoming the first passengers on this new route."
