Prague Airport has opened AeroRooms Hotel, which offers a total of fourteen newly renovated comfortable rooms accessible from both the public and non-public area behind the passport control. Hotel´s premises are designed for both connecting passengers and clients who need short-term accommodation near the terminals. At the same time, Prague Airport is gradually renovating airport lounges to double their capacities and increase passenger comfort.

The AeroRooms Hotel was built on the site of the former Rest&Fun Center that used to offer a total of eight rooms exclusively for passengers with connecting flights. “Through our new AeroRooms Hotel project we are responding to the continuously growing number of passengers and changing composition of potential customers. Our hotel is primarily to expand the airport's accommodation capacities, increase their quality, and make them available to greater numbers of passengers,” says Jiří Petržilka, Executive Director of the Non-Aviation Business of Prague Airport.

Hotel, which offers a total of fourteen newly designed rooms, is also newly accessible from the airport’s public zone, while the access from non-public connecting flights area between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 was kept. Therefore, hotel accommodation is available to both transit passengers passing through Terminal 1 and clients who have not checked in yet, or those who need short-term accommodation right close to the airport, for example, passengers arriving from distant locations and departing from Prague very early in the morning. Hotel rates start at CZK 1,999 (approx.77 EUR) per night per room. The hotel is open non-stop.

Prague Airport has invested approximately 14 million CZK into AeroRooms hotel, primarily into extensive construction and technical modifications. Their purpose was not only to increase the hotel's capacity and establish access from the airport's public zone, but also to ensure strict safety standards associated with the hotel’s operation directly at the terminal of a large international airport. Due to the necessary security measures, passengers are to make advance room reservations either through the website of Prague Airport www.prg.aero or at www.booking.com.

In addition to the newly opened AeroRooms hotel, Prague Airport is also expanding premium lounge services. In October, airport will start the renovation of Erste Premier Lounge at Terminal 2, which will be completed prior to the next summer season. It will be followed by the renovation of Mastercard Lounge at Terminal 1. The capacity of each lounge to be increased by almost 100%. The Raiffeisenbank Lounge was renovated already last year. The extensive renovations of lounges will increase their capacities and comfort levels. The expansion and improvement of premium services for passengers will require a total investment of several tens of millions of Czech crowns

The passengers’ demand for lounges experience has been growing over the years. Between 2017 and 2018, the number of clients using our lounge services increased by 24%. As with the other airport infrastructures; however, our lounges are reaching their maximum capacities. Therefore, we have decided to complete construction modifications that are feasible with regards to the current design of our airport terminals. They will allow us to increase their capacities with a reserve large enough for the next approximately seven years, when our expanded Terminal 2 should be put into operation and offer new premises for our airport's premium services,” says Jiří Petržilka.

The new service of AeroRooms, as well as more comfortable and spacious airport lounges with their increased capacity, will contribute to meeting the strategic objective of Prague Airport in the non-aviation business, i.e. the continuously growing share of our non-aviation trade revenues in the total revenues of Prague Airport.
