Cathay Pacific Airways operated its first flight to Düsseldorf on 1 September 2015, with CX379 departing Hong Kong shortly after midnight and arriving in Düsseldorf at 07:12 on the same day.

Prior to the departure of CX376, the first Cathay Pacific flight from Düsseldorf to Hong Kong, a gate ceremony was organized at the boarding gate in Düsseldorf Airport to celebrate the special occasion. Passengers were treated to an auspicious lion dance performance, followed by ribbon and cake cutting led by Cathay Pacific Country Manager Germany and Eastern Europe, Mr Tony Sham.

Joining the festivities were the Mayor of Düsseldorf, Mr Thomas Geisel as well as Düsseldorf Airport’s Managing Director Dr Ludger Dohm and Chairman, Mr Gerhard Schröder.

Düsseldorf is Cathay Pacific’s second destination in Germany, after Frankfurt, and marks the latest enhancement to its Europe network.

The airline operates this service with a Boeing 777-300ER in a four-class configuration, featuring a refreshed First Class, award-winning Business Class and new Premium Economy and long-haul Economy Class seats.
