Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, has announced its 2016 Summer schedule to and from Doncaster Sheffield Airport that features eight new year round routes. This in total offers passengers a total choice of up to 84 flights a week to an extensive range of key destinations across the UK and regional Europe.

Tickets are available for booking now at www.flybe.com with one way fares from £29.99 including taxes and charges and currently available for travel from 27th March through to 30th September 2016.

The airline will base two 118-seat Embraer 195 jet aircraft at the airport to operate flights to Alicante, Amsterdam, Berlin, Jersey, Malaga, Faro, Newquay and Paris Charles de Gaulle. The EJet has two by two all leather seating throughout, meaning there are no middle seats.

Phillip Delaney, Flybe’s Director of Sales and Distribution, comments: “We’re excited to confirm our new schedule from Doncaster Sheffield Airport today. We are confident we have created a schedule that delivers attractive travel options that are both appealing and affordable for Summer 2016 as well as providing opportunities for onward global connections.

“Flybe prides itself on offering great value fares and a convenient, fast, reliable service to some very popular destinations. We look forward to our expanded operations taking off from South Yorkshire and to welcoming all our new passengers on board next March.”

Managing Director of Doncaster Sheffield Airport, Steve Gill, said: “This is fantastic news for the Sheffield City Region. We have worked extremely closely with the Flybe team to ensure that the route network meets the needs of the region.

“There is a clear message in this that local people want to fly from their local airport and not have to trek to Heathrow or across the Pennines in needless car or train journeys. Thanks to the new motorway link road, journey times between the airport and Sheffield will be reduced to 25 minutes and some 15-20 minutes will be knocked off most journeys.”
