London Biggin Hill Airport, the only dedicated business aviation airport within the capital, is reporting a significant increase in movements at the airport following the introduction of extended opening hours on May 1.
The latest 'Business Aviation INSIGHT' report from WingX Advance shows that since the new operating hours came into effect, the airport has seen an 21% increase in business aviation movements year on year.
The new extended hours of 06.30 to 23.00 Monday to Friday and 08.00 to 22.00 at Weekends and Public Holidays has been especially welcomed by North American and Middle East based customers in particular.
Robert Walters, business development director London Biggin Hill, says: 'Introducing extended operating hours has been the right decision for our airport and shows our commitment to offering our customers unrivalled flexibility and service.
'The continued growth of Biggin Hill alongside our low operating costs, no slot restrictions and its proximity to central London, coupled with the recent arrival of the steels for a new 60,000 sq ft hanger, further supports the trend that the airport is establishing itself as the preferred business aviation gateway for London and the City.'
