Med-View Airline commenced its first long-haul operation on 20 November by launching a new four times-weeklyLagos (LOS) to London Gatwick (LGW) service. The 4,972-kilometre sector will be flown by the carrier’s sole 767-300 and will face no direct competition although indirect competition is strong. Arik Air, British Airways and Virgin Atlantic Airways each offer a daily service between London Heathrow and Lagos, meaning a combined total of 21 weekly flights already operate between the two cities.
