On the 1st of January 2022 VINCI Airports took over operations at Annecy Mont Blanc Airport, following the signing of the public service delegation agreement with the Haute-Savoie Departmental Council last July. VINCI Airports will now manage and operate the airport for 15 years, extending its network to 12 airports in France.
VINCI Airports will support the business and leisure aviation activity through a €10 million investment plan, co-financed with the Haute-Savoie Department. This plan will make it possible to renew the runway, improve the quality of service to passengers and crews by redeveloping the business terminal and accelerate the airport's environmental transition through "AirPact", VINCI Airports' ambitious environmental policy.
Nicolas Notebaert, CEO of VINCI Concessions and President of VINCI Airports, commented: "Annecy Mont-Blanc Airport, which specialises in business and leisure aviation, plays an important role in the attractiveness of the Alpine region. As a new operator with strong environmental ambitions, VINCI Airports will demonstrate its know-how in Annecy to make aviation more sustainable at all types of airports, in conjunction with its delegating authorities and the areas where it is located."
VINCI Airports' environmental roadmap for the airport includes reducing the use of fossil fuels through energy-efficient buildings and the development of photovoltaic energy, switching to electric runway equipment, and supporting light electric aviation. The plan will significantly reduce the airport's CO2 emissions, with the aim of achieving Net Zero Emission by 2030 at the latest. Particular attention will also be paid to the airport's integration into its environment.
In terms of business aviation, Annecy Mont Blanc Airport will henceforth rely on the expertise of VINCI Airports with the introduction of the "VINCI Airports Executive Handling" label, a guarantee of a high level of service quality. It will also benefit from the complementarity with the other hubs managed by the Group in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region (Lyon-Saint Exupéry, Lyon Bron, Chambéry Savoie Mont- Blanc, Grenoble Alpes Isère and Clermont-Ferrand Auvergne).
