AeronautX, part of the AX Aero Group, has announced the launch of a new business aviation pilot training centre in Amsterdam, scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2027. Created by business aviation professionals for business aviation professionals, the new centre is designed to offer operators a more personalised, practical and pilot-focused training experience. Located near Schiphol Airport, one of the world’s leading aviation hubs, the purpose-built facility will initially provide training for the Bombardier Challenger 3500 and Challenger 650, with further aircraft types set to be added in the future.
Every aspect of the training environment has been tailored to meet the needs of both individual pilots and operators. From instructor interaction and advanced technology to the overall learning experience, the focus is on strengthening pilot proficiency, confidence and operational readiness. Programmes will cover Initial Type Ratings, Base Training, Recurrent Training, Type Rating Instructor (TRI) qualifications, as well as a variety of operator-specific courses.
To support the centre’s launch, AeronautX has entered into a strategic partnership with VistaJet, reinforcing the company’s European expansion and supporting investment in its growing Challenger fleet. VistaJet will utilise the Amsterdam facility for its Challenger pilot training requirements, while AeronautX will continue to independently offer simulator access and training services to other operators.
The collaboration highlights AeronautX’s commitment to working closely with leading operators while maintaining an independent training platform that remains accessible to the broader business aviation community.
All programmes are designed and delivered by highly experienced pilots who remain actively engaged in flight operations and possess extensive aircraft-specific expertise. Serving as both instructors and mentors, they bring valuable first-hand insight into aircraft performance, onboard systems and real-world operational environments throughout every stage of training.

Jörg Oberhofer, Founder and CEO, AeronautX, commented: “By combining innovation with real world operational expertise and a highly personalised approach, AeronautX is redefining what operators and pilots should expect from a training provider. VistaJet has built its reputation around exceptionally high standards of safety, service and operational consistency, making it a natural strategic partner for AeronautX. Our partnership with VistaJet demonstrates the flexible model we are building in Amsterdam: supporting the specific requirements of leading global operators while remaining an independent training provider serving operators of all sizes.”
Nick van der Meer, Vista’s Chief Operating Officer, stated: “High-quality and consistent pilot training is fundamental to our operation. Our partnership with AeronautX gives us access to the latest simulation technology and a modern, purpose-built training environment in Amsterdam, supporting the continued development of our own Challenger pilot training programme. We look forward to a successful partnership with AeronautX in Amsterdam."
Niall Olver, Chairman, AX Aero Group, said: “Our goal at AeronautX is to deliver training within a trusted, relationship-driven environment. We believe exceptional training comes from combining advanced technology with a frictionless and exceptional learning experience. For decades, pilot training has been dominated by large, standardised providers. It is time for a new approach.”
Using modern training methodologies such as Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) and Evidence-Based Training (EBT), combined with the latest digital learning technologies, AeronautX delivers a more efficient and effective learning experience, enabling pilots to develop skills faster and with greater confidence.
AeronautX is part of AX Aero Group, an aviation technology company providing integrated corporate aviation solutions across flight training, aircraft management and operations, simulation, technology development, and flight testing.
