Avfuel Corporation welcomed Sheltair’ new FBO at Georgia’s Gwinnett County Airport (KLZU) to its branded network effective April 2, 2023. The location, just 33 miles from downtown Atlanta, was awarded in a competitive process based on a $17-million program to enhance and expand the airport.
Joel Hirst, Avfuel’s senior vice president of sales, commented: “Sheltair made an all-in commitment to Gwinnett County and Avfuel is eager to help the company achieve its vision. We value the partnership we have with Sheltair and look forward to working with its team to support general aviation in Georgia’s largest metro area.”
Lisa Holland, president of Sheltair, said: “We intend to exceed expectations and are dedicated to making Gwinnett County Airport the best it can be; Avfuel is an important part of that. The advantages Avfuel offers add value for our guests, and we look forward to extending that value to our network's latest FBO addition.”
The third-busiest airport in Georgia, LZU is ripe for an upgrade; as such, Sheltair will transition the existing Gwinnett Aero FBO’s space. Over time, Sheltair plans to improve the location’s look and feel in accordance with the airport authority’s goals. This includes a new FBO, restaurant and office complex, along with expanding the existing 200,000-square-foot hangar facility. In addition to physical improvements, Sheltair will provide its always-outstanding customer care, competitive fuel prices, lucrative AVTRIP rewards and streamlined transactions with the Avfuel Pro Card.
