FAI Technik GmbH, Germany’s premier business‑jet MRO and a wholly owned subsidiary of the FAI Aviation Group Holding, has secured authorised dealer and installer status for SpaceX’s Starlink high‑speed satellite internet solution for aviation. This immediate approval positions FAI Technik to deliver a powerful new connectivity upgrade to operators, with all installations performed at its state‑of‑the‑art maintenance facility at Albrecht Dürer Airport in Nuremberg. The partnership significantly expands FAI Technik’s commercial offering, reinforcing its leadership in advanced aircraft modifications and next‑generation inflight connectivity.
FAI Technik completed its first Starlink installation in June on a Bombardier Global Express XRS, marking the launch of high‑speed, low‑latency connectivity across its fleet. Additional upgrades on select aircraft are already scheduled, reinforcing the company’s commitment to next‑generation inflight connectivity. In parallel, FAI Technik is offering Starlink installation services to external aircraft owners and operators, enabling customers to equip their aircraft with the latest standard in onboard digital performance. With Starlink, passengers gain access to fast, reliable internet throughout the flight, supporting video conferencing, streaming, cloud‑based applications and uninterrupted online communication.
Michael Axtmann, Managing Director, FAI Technik, commented: "Our appointment as an authorised SpaceX Starlink dealer and installer marks an important milestone in the continued expansion of FAI Technik's modification and connectivity capabilities. As demand for high-speed, reliable connectivity continues to grow across the business aviation sector, we expect Starlink to become a highly attractive addition to the range of services and solutions we offer aircraft owners and operators."
As an experienced EASA Part-145 maintenance organisation, FAI Technik provides aircraft maintenance, modification and installation services from its Nuremberg base, combining technical expertise, operational experience and comprehensive in-house capabilities. Starlink complements the company's established expertise in aircraft connectivity and cabin technology upgrades including Gogo´s Galileo, Honeywell´s Ka-Band and Collins Ku-Band.
