Gazpromneft-Aero become the first Russian company to introduce a digital commercial accounting system for aviation refuelling at Sheremetyevo airport (Moscow). The new technology will increase the efficiency and speed of refuelling operations, reducing the time it takes for partner airlines to process primary documents for aircraft servicing and provide them with online data on the amount of fuel supplied on each flight. Gazpromneft-Aero's investments in the development and implementation of the project exceeded RUB430 million (over USD6 million).

Prior to putting the system into commercial operation, Gazprom Neft equipped all the refuelling tankers at Sheremetyevo with industrial automation systems, digital systems for measuring the amount of fuel provided, communication modules, driver terminals and printers. The new technology allows for all information on the parameters of “into the wing” refuelling to be accessible online. The automated system monitors the refuelling operation and automatically stops the process once the necessary amount of fuel in the aircraft tanks is reached. The GSM module transmits information to the Gazpromneft-Aero server, and thanks to the mobile printers, the generated reports can be printed in situ.

The automated commercial accounting of aviation fuel will significantly reduce the turnaround time of primary accounting data and invoices. The system fully controls the calculation of the amount of fuel provided, including the completion of the primary documentation post refueling as well as the right sequence of technological operations. The new automated complex, which is part of the unified corporate Neftecontrol - Gazprom Neft system, will increase the efficiency of online monitoring of the entire fuelling process, from the refinery to an aircraft wing.

“The new accounting system reduces refueling time by an average of 10% and improves control over fuel operations on the airport apron. We see great potential for the development of online services and are working to create a unified digital ecosystem of aviation fuel supply, which will include technological solutions developed by our specialists. We are confident that the unified intelligent platform will increase the efficiency of our work with our airline partners all over the world”, said Vladimir Yegorov, CEO of Gazpromneft-Aero.

The company plans to launch a similar system at the international airports of Novosibirsk, Murmansk, Ulyanovsk, Chita, Saratov and other cities.
