RUAG Aviation announces the completion of over 15,000 flight data recorder (FDR) maintenance events. This latest milestone for the industry leader in aircraft component MRO was achieved in the final quarter of 2016. RUAG Aviation’s one-stop shop services at its Munich location, features a dedicated, in-house component service centre for business aircraft industry. The centre guarantees a turnaround time of just 3 days for any single component.

The dedicated, in-house component services shop at RUAG Aviation in Munich averages approximately 700 flight data recorders (FDR) per year and is currently marking the completion of 15,000 units. The aircraft service provider credits this milestone to their premier services for components featuring rapid, guaranteed turnaround times.

“A guaranteed turnaround time of just 3 days applies to every aircraft component arriving at our testing centre,” confirms Volker Wallrodt, Senior Vice President Business Jets, Dornier 228 & Components, RUAG Aviation. “This component support model is unique within the industry. Customers rely on this support for the strategic management of their continued airworthiness and fleet availability needs.”

FDR devices require regular readout and testing services to ensure safe operations and continued airworthiness. The technical specialists at RUAG Aviation also provide exclusive remote diagnostics support, accepting electronic FDR files and enabling customers to effectively shorten the lead time associated with shipment logistics.
