This is a revolutionary milestone. As of now, flights aboard 100% electric aircraft are bookable in the United Kingdom via the Wingly platform. It's open to any Wingly user who wants to experience a 30 minutes fully electric flight on the Pipistrel Velis Electro Aircraft. Starting from the Damyns Hall Aerodrome users will receive a full briefing and an introduction to the airplane. They fly with an instructor and have the opportunity to maneuver the airplane. They will also receive a limited edition digital certificate from Wingly confirming that they have flown 100% Electric!

In addition to Damyns Hall Aerodrome, more airclubs will open electric private flights in the coming months. France and Switzerland will follow the UK. Even if today the electric flight is done with a 2-seater and for only 30 minutes, Wingly expects to be able to fly with a 4-seater for 1 hour from 2025.
Not only are aeroclubs adapting to meet the soon expected demand for electric flights. An increasing number of private pilots take training to be allowed to fly the Velis Electro.
Deepak Mahajan Chief Flight Instructor and Director of Fly by light aviation Damyns Hall Aerodrome celebrates this premiere with his partner Wingly and says “We are pioneers and have introduced certified electric aircraft to the UK for flight training and are pleased to offer it to Wingly users while reducing their carbon footprint.”

Wingly is Europe’s premier flight sharing platform, bringing together the largest trusted community of private pilots and passengers. Wingly has brought aviation into the sharing economy. Through its digital platform, it connects private pilots offering empty seats with passengers to share the cost of a flight. Wingly democratises mankind’s oldest dream by making private flying a unique experience accessible to everyone.
