Vicuna Air announced the launch of Vicuna Waypoints, a new service that allows travelers to bring their pets on flights between various European cities and the transatlantic airports served by Vicuna, including its New York–Brussels route. Taking its name from the waypoints used in aviation to guide a flight path, Waypoints extends this concept beyond the airplane, connecting customers’ homes to their Vicuna flights through pet-friendly transportation companies and hotels.
Each itinerary is managed by Vicuna’s concierge team—from transfers and pet-friendly stops to accommodations and connections—simplifying long journeys while ensuring the premium experience for which Vicuna is renowned. This service includes two distinct offerings.
Vicuna Waypoints: The Express Route package is designed for travelers who want a hassle-free trip that combines speed with consideration for their pet’s needs. Vicuna plans the fastest and most convenient itinerary, taking into account pet-friendly transportation options and coordinating connections, necessary stops, and overnight stays, as needed.
Vicuna Waypoints: The Scenic Route package offers a more leisurely approach. Tailor-made itineraries, spanning several days, combine first-class train travel, private drivers, ferries, and handpicked hotels, with carefully selected stops that highlight the beauty and character of Europe while ensuring the trip is convenient.
Jamie Everett, founder of Vicuna Air commented: “We’re constantly looking for new ways to make traveling with a pet simpler, more comfortable, and more enjoyable. Waypoints allows us to bring the Vicuna experience to travelers beyond the cities we serve directly, without ever compromising the care and attention that define our way of traveling. Whether they choose the Express or Scenic option, the flight is just one part of the journey. We don't need to take a direct flight to your city to get you there. That's really the essence of Waypoints.”
One of the first regions where Waypoints will expand Vicuna’s reach will be Northern Europe. Paris, Amsterdam, and Frankfurt remain key direct connections via Brussels, while more distant destinations—including Hamburg, Copenhagen, Stockholm, and Oslo—will be served via Waypoints. This offers pet owners throughout the region a new way to access their transatlantic flight with Vicuna.
