404 thousand visitors and exhibitors took part in MAKS-2015 airshow

The 12th MAKS-2015 international airshow was held in Zhukovsky (Moscow Region) during a period from August 25th to August 30th. Despite difficult economic and political situation the value of contracts signed at the airshow exceeded 350 billion rubles. 404 thousand visitors and exhibitors took part in MAKS-2015 airshow, press-service of Aviasalon reports.

In his opening speech at the airshow, President of Russia Vladimir Putin stressed the importance of the event in terms of business development. “I am sure that regardless of the current political situation, MAKS will remain a platform for business communications, promoting cooperation and finding new partners,” he said. The status of MAKS as one of the world’s largest airshows is confirmed by participation of the leading companies. A total of 878 enterprises and organizations took part in the show (including 151 foreign companies from 31 countries). The static display was presented in pavilions with a total area of 19 thousand square meters as well as “temporary” pavilions (1,2 thousand square meters). Delegations of the companies worked in 78 chalets.

As a platform for business communications, MAKS-2015 attracted representatives of state authorities, business and scientific communities. In the course of 50 conferences and business roundtables, the parties discussed problems related to development of aerospace industry, new technologies and materials, as well as personnel training. Over 2000 people took part in these events and meetings. The meetings were held in conference halls of the Congress-center. Some events were held in TsAGI, VIAM and exhibition halls as well as congress centers located in Moscow.

The demonstration program, included special flights, which lasted one hour and were performed in the opening day of the airshow, three-hour flights were performed on Wednesday and Thursday. Since Friday (August 28th) the flights were being performed from 11-00 to 17-00; the visitors also had a chance to watch races in the network of YOKOHAMA speed festival. 34 aircraft and helicopters took part in demonstration flights along with 7 aerobatic teams operating a total of 46 vehicles. 133 aircraft were presented at the static display, including 20 vehicles operated by Russian aerospace defense forces.

Taking into account a keen interest in aviation, organizers of MAKS-2015 provided about 4 thousand journalists from 580 Russian and 158 foreign mass media companies with the accreditation (including 43 Russian and 26 foreign TV channels). A press-center fitted with all the necessary equipment was established in order to make their work more comfortable. Official accounts of MAKS-2015 were registered in largest social networks for the first time ever. The number of subscribers of these accounts reached 90 thousand people.

In 2015 the airshow sparked a great interest among aviation lovers. Despite bad weather, the total number of visitors exceeded 404 thousand persons. In particular, over the first three days 66 thousand specialists visited the airshow.
