A celebration is always a positive moment in everyday routine. So what is MRO Insider celebrating this time? There is a first millestone passed for the website - the registration of over 500 corporate aircraft on the maintenance quoting marketplace.
MRO Insider is a web-based tool for obtaining maintenance quote requests for eleven different maintenance services. After registering, owner/operators select an aircraft, choose which service is needed, specify a timeframe, and can send equipment lists, maintenance tracking documents or photos. Upon submission, facilities subscribed to the MRO Insider network are notified of an RFQ (request for quote) and log in to request additional information from the owner/operator or submit a quote. Each maintenance facility has a profile page with photos and customer reviews with the main goal of the website being to improve transparency and efficiency in the maintenance quoting process for aircraft owner/operators.

Andy Nixon, co-founder and VP of Sales, explains, “With the ADS-B deadline nearing, we are seeing an increase in registrations and avionics requests sent through the website. Owner/operators or Directors of Maintenance can compare ADS-B quotes side by side to find a solution that best meets their needs, including scheduling and downtime. We have gotten great feedback from both segments of our customer base and have used the feedback to continue to improve our system.”
MRO Insider will be exhibiting at the NBAA regional forum in Houston, TX on March 14th and at MRO Americas in Atlanta in April. The company will also be exhibiting at the NBAA Maintenance Conference in Fort Worth in May, where they will be giving away a gift basket aimed at cigar and bourbon lovers.
MRO Insider was founded in 2016 by Lindsay and Andy Nixon to improve upon the current system of word-of-mouth referrals for aviation maintenance services. Launched at NBAA-BACE in 2017, the company added over 100 maintenance locations within their first year. The website is a free service for aircraft owner/operators to submit RFQ’s,browse facility profiles and read customer reviews. Subscribed maintenance facilities pay a flat monthly fee for their profile page and quoting ability.
