AFI KLM E&M and Oman Air have signed a new, long-term contract providing flight hour support for CFM56-7 power plants equipping Oman Air's Boeing 737NG's.

Franck Terner, executive vice president Air France engineering and  maintenance said: “We have worked regularly with Oman Air for several years. I am very pleased that the airline has now shown us this mark of trust by opting for our engine know-how.”

Ton Dortmans, executive vice president KLM E&M said he was very happy with the Oman Air choice: “The airline was won over by our extensive expertise on the best-selling CFM56-7 engine. This engine and its close relative the -5B are high quality assets, and AFI KLM E&M is the reliable choice when it comes to these narrow body products.” Paul Gregorowitsch, Chief Executive Officer at Oman Air, added: “AFI KLM E&M is globally recognised for their highly professional services. Teaming up with them reflects the high standards of quality Oman Air stands for. The long-term contract will help us to deliver smooth operations and will support us in maintaining our excellent record for safety, reliability and on-time performance. Our decision was reached after AFI KLM E&M was able to make an attractive offer in terms of both quality and price, bringing the value of the contract to several hundred million USD.”
