ACI Jet announced the successful return to service and completion of its first Bombardier Global 7500 Starlink satellite internet installation. This achievement marks one of the first few installations of Starlink on this flagship aircraft type worldwide. Installations of this magnitude, especially as a first for the company, necessitate a team that excels in collaboration and communication, both internally and with stakeholders.

David Jensen, ACI Jet’s Senior Vice President of Aircraft Maintenance commented: “With more installations lined up, it was essential that we delivered a flawless product to our customer. This installation put our repair station model to the test, stacking teams with complementary skill sets together on assigned aircraft throughout the installation process, and it proved the concept with flying colors.”

Starlink for business jets is a satellite internet service designed to provide high-speed, low-latency connectivity, enabling seamless streaming, video conferencing, and other data-intensive activities while in flight. Utilizing a constellation of low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites, Starlink offers significantly lower latency and faster broadband speeds compared to traditional satellite services, ensuring a responsive internet experience. This advanced connectivity enhances the passenger experience by enabling business travelers to remain productive, stay connected, and enjoy entertainment options while in flight.

The feedback from the installation team highlighted that the equipment and ongoing support from Starlink exceeded expectations, making the installation process seamless and efficient. The installation involved minimal structural modifications and utilized field-proven hardware paired with well-designed software to ensure seamless connectivity. Only minor alterations to the interior cabinetry were necessary, expertly handled by ACI Jet’s Interiors & Completions team.
