To facilitate its expanding customer base and to help meet the growing demand for MRO, Caerdav has opened a dedicated fourth line of maintenance – a move that means the company has effectively doubled its capacity in the past 18 months. Following extensive remodelling of its modern Twin Peaks facility in St. Athan, the fully independent MRO – which specialises in work on Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 – can now deliver comprehensive maintenance solutions to four aircraft at any one time.

Chris Coleman, Managing Director at Caerdav, commented: “With the global demand for aircraft maintenance continuing to increase, opening a fourth line was the next phase of our detailed growth strategy. We are delighted to be in a position to bring additional jobs and opportunities to South Wales. Having signed agreements with a range of new customers, from airlines to major leasing companies,  we are now in a position to fill our hangars throughout the year – which is the target for every aircraft MRO. “It’s a fantastic time to be part of the team at Caerdav. Our independence is one of our core strengths, allowing us to work with who we choose and to secure exciting new opportunities with valuable customers. With our apprenticeship programme going from strength to strength every year, the future is looking extremely bright."

Caerdav’s remodelled hangars include improved back shop capabilities and additional workshop space, allowing the company to support a wider range of maintenance activities on-site, including composite repairs, non-destructive testing, plus repair and restoration paint services.

With the ability to perform most of the work in-house at St. Athan, Caerdav has been able to improve efficiencies and decrease turnaround times for customer aircraft.

Offering a full range of heavy checks, refurbishment, end-of-life, and end-of-lease transition maintenance, the company has been able to establish itself as a significant player in the global aircraft MRO market.
