Embraer opened registration for its second edition of Social Tech, a technology career acceleration program for underrepresented groups. This year, the focus of the program will be on creating opportunities for Black community. There will be 1,000 openings available, and graduating participants will receive technical qualification and preparation to work in one of the fastest-growing professional areas in Brazil.
During the course, people will have the opportunity to learn Python language with applications in data science, artificial intelligence, and automation. The course will use a bootcamp methodology, an immersive remote training which develops the necessary skills and capabilities for work in the technological sector. Participants who complete the course are eligible to work at Embraer when opportunities are available and will be qualified to work at partner companies.
Carlos Alberto Griner, Vice President of People, ESG and Communication at Embraer, commented: “The purpose of the Social Tech program is to generate careers for underrepresented groups in the technology area by promoting the qualification of these professionals and expanding opportunities in a sector with high demand. We are aware of the challenges that the Black community encounters when entering the technology field in Brazil and want to do our part to expand their representation. The Social Tech program is fully aligned with our commitment to contribute to a more inclusive society, and our focus on providing quality education for all.”
Applications for Social Tech must be submitted through the website Embraer Social Tech Careers (https://embraer.com/br/pt/social-tech-careers) and will be accepted until September 18, 2022. The program will run over a three-month period, consisting of 244 hours.
