Volga-Dnepr Gulf (UAE) FZC has signed a contract with WWTAI AirOpCO 1 Bermuda LTD to provide maintenance services on the customer’s Boeing 747-400 aircraft. The scope of work to be performed in Volga-Dnepr Gulf’s Sharjah hangar will include required checks and inspections up to C-check, implementation of open airworthiness directives and complete undercarriage replacement. The passenger airliner will then be leased out to a leading Far Eastern charter operator.

Volga-Dnepr Gulf is the only fully independent MRO provider focusing on the markets of Middle East, India and Africa and capable to perform an entire range of maintenance activities on Boeing 747-400, 737CL/NG and 757 and Airbus 320 type aircraft.

WWTAI AirOpCO 1 Bermuda LTD is a subsidiary of Fortress Investment Group LLC, a leading, highly diversified global investment management firm which owns more than twenty wide- and narrow-body commercial aircraft (one in question being in transit from one operator to another) and manages an investment portfolio of $76 billion.

Volga-Dnepr Gulf, a UAE-based MRO provider has greatly developed its maintenance capability since its inception in 1996 and now offers state-of-the-art 22,000 sq. m aircraft maintenance hangar facilities in Sharjah airport. The hangar is capable of accommodating six narrow-body (B737/A320 size) or two wide-body aircraft (B747 size) at a time, and is fitted with all required tools/equipment and modern air conditioning and fire protection systems for quality maintenance services up to D-checks, including fully-fledged structural and wheel repair shops. As a EASA Part 145 approved organization along with many other national approvals, Volga-Dnepr Gulf offers an extensive scope of maintenance services on Boeing 747 / 757 / 737CL / 737NG and Airbus A320 family, as well as Russian-built Ilyushin 76 and Antonov 124-100 aircraft.
