Lufthansa Technik has been selected by an undisclosed customer to perform comprehensive cabin engineering services as well as initial parts rovisioning for the entry into service on a Boeing BBJ 787-8.
The engineering services consist of Service Bulletin (SB) and Airworthiness Directive (AD) monitoring, development and tracking of required maintenance planning data as well as parts and components adapted to the specific customer needs. The part provisioning services comprises the overall services for the aircraft and the cabin supporting the entry into service.
“We are permanently extending our technical support for this aircraft type. The engineering and initial parts provisioning services mark another milestone in further strengthening our expertise on the 787,”said Walter Heerdt, Senior Vice President VIP & Special Mission Aircraft Services, Lufthansa Technik.
The technical support agreement is a follow-on contract to a comprehensive cabin modification of this aircraft which Lufthansa Technik will execute in the next weeks. So far the company supports more than 180 Boeing 787 from airline operators. The product portfolio comprises different types of maintenance, repair and overhaul services for commercial and VIP aircraft of this type, including engineering, spare part supply, modifications and completions.
