A significant advancement in environmentally sustainable pilot training - Saxon Air announced the grand opening of 'Saxon Air Flight Training Centre' in the East of England. The program is anchored by the introduction of the UK first Virus SW121A - ‘the Explorer’ aircraft, provided by NEBOair. The Explorer represents the pinnacle of eco-conscious aviation technology with its ultra-efficient operation and dramatically lower emissions, offering a 40%reduction in CO2 emissions compared to traditional aircraft. There is also the option to further reduce your carbon footprint by offsetting your flights. This aircraft is the perfect complement for PPL training alongside the Pipistrel Velis Electro at Saxon Air.

NEBOair and Saxon Air have been partners since 2022,united in their mission to decarbonise aviation training and promote zero-emission, sustainable flight. NEBOair’s leasing program focuses on flying schools and clubs to support economical access to advanced aircraft, supporting NEBOair's vision of widespread sustainable aviation practices aligned with Environmental, Social, and Governance principles. Saxon Air are delighted to have this collaboration to bolster the training fleet and work united towards shared sustainable goals. In collaboration with NEBOair, Saxon Air has effectively doubled its training fleet, greatly enhancing its capacity to deliver flight training services. This expansion is not only a leap forward for Saxon Air but also paves the way for a transformative impact on the aviation training landscape across the region.

Kerry from NEBOair commented: "When introduced with the Velis Electro, The Explorer's exceptional environmental performance underlines our commitment to the decarbonisation of pilot training. Its advanced features ensure that every aspect of the aircraft is designed to optimise efficiency and minimise environmental impact, making it an ideal choice for PPL training at Saxon Air."

Saxon Air’s CEO, Alex Durand, said: "Welcoming the UK’s first Pipistrel Explorer into our fleet marks a milestone in our journey to offer affordable, lower-emission flight training. This is a pivotal moment for Saxon Air and a huge leap towards our vision of a sustainable aviation future."

Saxon Air invites aspiring pilots and aviation enthusiasts to explore its revolutionary training program and join in shaping a greener future.
