During EAA AirVenture Oshkosh in the USA the University of Dubuque in Dubuque, Iowa, has selected the Airliner simulator, a training device designed to teach both A320 and B737 operational philosophies within a single platform. To complement the Airliner, the University has also selected a new ALSIM solution: the Airliner Touch, further enhancing its airline training capabilities.
The Airliner is a hybrid simulator that combines fly-by-wire and conventional flight controls, offering the ideal platform for Crew Resource Management, APS MCC, and MPL Phase II training. The simulator is built to develop essential competencies such as crew coordination, leadership, decision-making, and threat and error management. Its generic airliner design provides greater flexibility and broader skill transfer, ensuring trainees are fully prepared for airline operations and able to transition smoothly into any type rating, regardless of aircraft type.
UD has also chosen the Airliner Touch, an ALSIM Flat Panel Trainer. Complementary to the Airliner simulator, the Airliner Touch enables students to build confidence in aircraft systems and operational procedures before progressing to the Airliner simulator for more advanced and immersive training scenarios. By covering procedures and systems training, the Airliner Touch frees valuable Airliner simulator time for CRM and multi-crew exercises.
