Since 2020, Daher has been managing logistics operations for Airbus Defence and Space under two major A400M maintenance contracts: one in France, and the other in Germany. These contracts cover all logistics flows required to support the aircraft in service: parts procurement and storage; distribution to the maintenance teams; management of repairable equipment; and coordination of return-for-repair flows. The operations run continuously, 24/7, with extremely short response times tailored to the operational requirements of the air force users.
In France, Daher operates directly at the French Air and Space Force’s Orléans-Bricy Air Base with an integrated organization that enables real-time delivery of parts to maintenance teams. A complementary support operation is deployed in France at Clermont-Ferrand. In Germany, an equivalent operation has been implemented, with an organization adapted to local military requirements and a dedicated platform located near the German Air Force’s Wunstorf Air Force Base.
A key role amid rising operational requirements
At a time when defense equipment availability has become an increasingly critical issue, Daher provides the “last-kilometer logistics,” ensuring immediate availability of critical parts. The proportion of urgent flows requiring immediate delivery has increased significantly, further reinforcing the need for high responsiveness.
“Equipment availability is a strategic issue today,” said Aymeric Daher, the CEO of Daher Logistics, and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Daher. “Our role is to provide Airbus Defence and Space and its end customers with a reliable, responsive logistics capability that is fully integrated into their operations.”
A strategic partnership with Airbus Defence and Space
Daher’s activities for Airbus Defence and Space are structured around two primary business lines: in-service fleet support (MRO); and aerospace and space production logistics. The Daher Group complements its A400M in-service support activities with industrial logistics services deployed across several European sites.
A400M center fuselage production: Bremen, Germany
Daher manages industrial logistics for the A400M program at Airbus’ Bremen, Germany site, supported by approximately 50 employees. Similar to the services that Daher provides for Airbus Commercial Aircraft in Toulouse, France, this activity covers all logistics flows required for manufacturing the A400M’s center fuselage section – including integrated customs services.
The operation supports the A400M program’s production ramp-up.
Space satellite manufacturing: United Kingdom
In the space sector, Daher operates at three Airbus Defence and Space industrial sites in the United Kingdom.
The activity involves approximately 15 employees and focuses on managing flows requiring very high-quality standards adapted to the constraints of the space industry, including controlled environments that are similar to clean-room conditions.
This operation demonstrates Daher’s ability to support the entire value chain, serving the most demanding programs.
A growing strategic partnership
The overall partnership reflects Airbus’ confidence in Daher, along with the Group’s ability to operate in critical environments, while also confirming Daher’s growing role in supporting European defense programs.
