Diamond Aircraft delivered a DA62 MPP SurveyStar to Primul Meridian, a long-standing Romanian customer and pioneer in special mission aerial surveying. This marks a new chapter in a nearly two-decade partnership, as Primul Meridian upgrades its fleet to the latest generation of Diamond’s Special Mission Aircraft. Primul Meridian holds a distinguished place in Diamond’s history as one of the very first operators of the DA42 MPP GeoStar, the predecessor to today’s advanced DA62 MPP SurveyStar. Since then, the company has built an impressive track record in aerial survey and mapping operations, relying on Diamond’s efficiency, performance, and mission flexibility.
Mario Spiegel, Head of Sales Special Mission Aircraft, at Diamond Aircraft commented: “We are delighted to see Primul Meridian continue its journey with Diamond Aircraft. Their longstanding trust in our Special Mission Aircraft and their role as an early adopter of the DA42 MPP GeoStar make this delivery particularly meaningful. The DA62 MPP SurveyStar represents a significant step forward in capability, efficiency, and versatility.”
Cristian Glont, Managing Director at Primul Meridian stated: “This delivery represents more than just a fleet upgrade—it is a continuation of a trusted partnership. Having been among the first to operate the DA42 MPP GeoStar, we are proud to take delivery of the DA62 MPP SurveyStar. This aircraft will significantly enhance our operational capabilities and allow us to deliver even greater value to our clients.”
DA62 MPP SurveyStar builds upon the proven success of its predecessor, offering enhanced payload capacity, extended endurance, and improved mission system integration. Designed for demanding aerial survey and ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) operations, the aircraft provides operators with greater flexibility and productivity.
Primul Meridian has been operating Diamond Special Mission Aircraft for almost 20 years, supporting a wide range of aerial data acquisition missions across Romania and beyond. The addition of the DA62 MPP SurveyStar to its fleet underscores the company’s continued investment in cutting-edge technology to meet evolving customer demands.
DA62 MPP SurveyStar is expected to play a key role in Primul Meridian’s future projects, supporting high-precision aerial surveying, mapping, and data collection missions with increased efficiency and reliability.
