EHang brings Global Fast Track Program to Vietnam, marking its second international market

EHang has announced the expansion of its Global Fast Track Program to Vietnam, making it the second country to join the initiative after Sri Lanka. The program’s launch in Hanoi also marks EHang’s first city-level partnership in Vietnam. As part of the initiative, EHang’s local partner, HungViet Technology and Investment Trading JSC, has signed a MoU with the Hanoi Department of Science and Technology to advance low-altitude economy development in the Vietnamese capital. Under Hanoi’s regulatory sandbox framework, the parties will conduct eVTOL testing centered on the EH216-S pilotless passenger aircraft, helping to evaluate operational safety, regulatory compliance, and potential pathways for future deployment.

EHang will support the program by providing EH216-S aircraft and related technology systems, enabling real-world validation of low-altitude mobility applications and contributing to the development of a safe and scalable urban air mobility ecosystem in Vietnam. Under the MoU, the Hanoi Department of Science and Technology  will guide the regulatory sandbox application and approval process, while HungViet, acting as the local implementation partner, will commit the necessary technical, financial, and human resources from October 2026, prepare application documentation, and conduct controlled demonstration flights upon receiving regulatory authorization. EHang will provide the EH216-S pilotless passenger eVTOL aircraft, supporting operational technology systems, and personnel training for the testing program. Centered at Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park, the collaboration will be rolled out in phases, including controlled EH216-S flight demonstrations, the development of an Unmanned Aircraft Traffic Management framework and an Operations Control Center model, as well as technical training, regulatory cooperation, standards development, and knowledge exchange initiatives. Sandbox testing activities will commence upon completion of the required regulatory review and approval procedures.

Under the cooperation framework, the parties will begin with regulatory sandbox testing and progressively conduct technical validation of both passenger and cargo variants of EHang’s EH216 series pilotless eVTOL aircraft, ensuring alignment with Vietnam’s regulatory requirements, operational environment, and market needs. The phased approach is designed to support the safe and gradual advancement of commercial operations. Building on the initial deployment in Hanoi, EHang plans to expand its presence to other major Vietnamese cities, including Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, while exploring a range of commercial applications spanning urban air mobility, tourism, and connectivity to key travel destinations across the country.

Southeast Asia emerges as a key growth market for EHang’s Global Fast Track Program

On the sidelines of the 61st Conference of Directors General of Civil Aviation for the Asia and Pacific Regions (DGCA/61), EHang engaged with senior officials from Malaysia’s civil aviation authority, along with civil aviation directors and delegates from Laos, Fiji, Cambodia, the Philippines, Tonga, Vietnam, the Maldives, Bhutan, Nepal, and other regional markets. Discussions focused on advancing regulatory sandbox frameworks and identifying pathways for the implementation of EHang’s Global Fast Track Program across multiple jurisdictions.

Vietnam, one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing tourism markets, presents significant opportunities for advanced air mobility applications. The country’s expanding visitor economy and increasing demand for innovative transportation solutions create strong potential for pilotless eVTOL services, including aerial sightseeing, tourism experiences, and urban low-altitude transportation. Against this backdrop, the signing of the MoU in Hanoi marks an important milestone in the expansion of EHang’s Global Fast Track Program and further strengthens the Company’s strategic presence in Southeast Asia, positioning the region as a key hub for the future development of advanced air mobility ecosystems.
