Aero-engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce plc has selected Liebherr-Aerospace for the design, manufacture and service of a key pneumatic component, the high-pressure non-return valve, for the Trent 7000 engine.

In this first contract Liebherr-Aerospace has received from Rolls-Royce, the company will supply the high-pressure non-return valve for the new Trent 7000. This engine will exclusively power the Airbus A330neo aircraft. The valve will be designed and manufactured by Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse SAS, Toulouse (France), Liebherr’s center of excellence for air management systems.

The valve’s technology will benefit from Liebherr’s outstanding experience in designing, producing and servicing high-temperature and high-pressure pneumatic valves which have been integrated into the engine bleed air systems of most of the world’s major commercial aircraft programs.
