Specialists of the Zhukovsky Central AeroHydrodynamic Institute (TsAGI, a member of the National Research Center “Zhukovsky Institute”) completed another testing phase of a medium-lift military transport model of the IL-276. The work was carried out in the TsAGI transonic wind tunnel within the contract with PJSC “IL.”
During the tests the scientists simulated and identified the aerodynamic characteristics of the extension and retraction of the flap/slat system at takeoff and landing modes.
This year TsAGI plans to test the aerodynamic characteristics of a high-lift wing aircraft at a low-speed wind tunnel including near the Flight Strip Screen.
The Ilyushin Il-276 is a project of a two engine medium-liftmilitary transport aircraft with a payload up to 20 tons at a range of 2 000 km at speeds of 750-800 km/h.
It can be operated at high-level aerodromes and on artificial runaways and dirt air strips, at any geographical and climatic conditions, at any time of the day, in adverse weather conditions.
