Take-off time for AURA AERO all-electric two-seater INTEGRAL E is approaching fast. Today, on the tarmac of Toulouse-Francazal airport, the engine of the INTEGRAL E prototype was ignited. Event's godfather, Louis Burton, a French sailor who had come as a friend, and who is himself committed to the decarbonization of boating. INTEGRAL E power-up, first propeller turns and first run represent a major industrial milestone for AURA AERO. INTEGRAL E will begin its flight test campaign in a few weeks and the INTEGRAL electric range is scheduled to enter service in 2026. The experience and expertise in this new electric propulsion system will proving indispensable for AURA AERO ERA program, the 19-seater regional transport aircraft.
Jérémy CAUSSADE, Chairman and co-founder of AURA AERO, commented: "The first switch-on of INTEGRAL E is a history for AURA AERO, which is written every day with our teams and the support of all those who accompany us. I would like to thank the Occitanie Region, which was the first to believe in us and support the INTEGRAL project from 2019, but also INNOVACOM and the BPI, as well as all our investors and friends, thanks to whom we were able to raise the funds needed to launch this structuring project for low-carbon aviation. We are now embarking on our second round of fund-raising to accelerate the adventure, and we look forward to seeing you very soon when the French electric two-seater takes off!"
Louis Burton, godfather of the event, said: "Modern aviation has allowed adventurers to speed up the discovery of the world and people from all over the world to meet each other, and I'm proud and honored to be sponsoring AURA AERO's NTEGRAL E, which works to keep this possible while meeting the challenges of climate change."
A dozen INTEGRALs are already in production, pending certification of the INTEGRAL R and S, prior to the first customer deliveries scheduled for this year. A tug version of the INTEGRAL E will also be developed, in partnership with the Fédération Française de Vol en Planeur, making this aircraft the first French electric tug, modern and respectful of economic and environmental issues, for a reduction in the noise impact and carbon footprint of the towing activity.
