It is important for General Aviation Service to do everything possible to make its services more sustainable. It is clear that sustainability in aviation is a long road, made up of small steps and actions. So even if it sounds trivial, it is so true—every little bit counts.

We are pleased to inform you of a new piece of equipment, which is another step toward the sustainability of our services -JET-16, an advanced electric baggage and cargo tractor.

The JET-16 is an advanced electric baggage and cargo tractor developed by TLD, a leading manufacturer of Ground Support Equipment . It is designed for high-efficiency operations at airports, particularly for general aviation and commercial jet handling.The JET-16 combines environmental sustainability, operational efficiency, and cost-effectiveness, making it a key asset for airports aiming to modernize their fleet and reduce long-term expenses.

Key features

  • Electric Zero-Emission Propulsion: Powered by AC motors, the JET-16 offers smooth acceleration, high towing speeds, and excellent pulling capacity, all with zero emissions.
  • Towing Capacity: Capable of towing up to 25 tons (approx. 22,700 kg) with a tractive effort of 1600–2000 daN (3500–4400 lbs).
  • Flexible Energy Options: Compatible with lead-acid 80V batteries, TLD lithium-ion batteries (iBS), and hydrogen solutions, ensuring long operational autonomy and sustainability.
  • Robust and Ergonomic Design: Steel chassis, forward-oriented cabin for excellent visibility, operator protection, and easy access.
  • Superior Maneuverability: Short turning radius and intuitive handling, ideal for crowded ramps and tight spaces.

Advantages for airports

  • Supports Fleet Electrification Goals: The JET-16 contributes directly to AENA’s electrification targets, helping reduce the environmental impact of airport ground operations.
  • Operational Efficiency: Speeds up baggage and cargo handling, improving on-time departures and ramp productivity.
  • Reduced Maintenance and Long-Term Cost Savings: Minimal maintenance requirements translate into lower operational costs over the medium and long term.
  • Versatility: Suitable for handling a wide range of aircraft, from light jets to midsize aircraft. We have big GPU and luggage carts for big luggage carriers.
  • Enhanced Safety: Engineered to minimize risks for both equipment operators and aircraft.
