The Latvian airline airBaltic has achieved exceptional performance and was recognised as a leading operator of Q400NextGen aircraft by Bombardier.

Martin Sedlacky, Chief Operations Officer of airBaltic: “Our customers can rely on a consistently punctual service, and we achieved the best on-time performance globally for two years running in 2014 and 2015. This requires robust operations, and we are delighted that Bombardier has recognised our excellence with the Q400NextGen turboprop. We are looking forward to extend this to the CSeries jets, as they join our fleet later this year.”

airBaltic was honoured in a special ceremony during Bombardier Commercial Aircraft’s 2016 All Operators Conference and Tradeshow being held in Dallas, Texas this week. Earlier this month, airBaltic selected additional Bombardier CS300 aircraft by converting its remaining seven option aircraft to firm. This latest order brought airBaltic’s total firm order to 20 CS300 aircraft.

As announced earlier, airBaltic achieved a punctuality rating of 94.4% for flights linking the Baltics with destinations in Europe, Middle East and Russia/CIS. It means that more than 9 airBaltic aircraft out of 10 arrive on time. airBaltic is followed in the global TOP 10 ranking by Copa Airlines, Azul, Japan Airlines, All Nippon Airways, Finnair, TAM, Austrian Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, LOT.

airBaltic was the first airline in Europe to introduce on-time arrival guarantee in early 2009. This insurance allows airBaltic passengers to make the rare delays less inconvenient.

airBaltic serves over 60 destinations from its home base in Riga, Latvia. From every one of these locations, airBaltic offers convenient connections via Riga to its network spanning Europe, Scandinavia, CIS and the Middle East. In addition, airBaltic also offers new direct flights from Tallinn and Vilnius.
