In a partnership that firmly establishes the UK as leaders in MROinnovation, easyJet has partnered with AJW Group in a five year cost-per-flight-hour contract to support its growing fleet of Airbus A320 family aircraft. The contract is evidence of a new dynamic in aviation support which sees AJW establish its position as the leading independent provider of integrated services that allow airlines to completely outsource all of their inventory requirements.
Now up and running, the collaborative and wholly engaged transition process went live on October 7th 2015 – delivered on time, to schedule. Key factors have included the training, development and enhancement of the AJW resource pool and the in-depth education and practical deployment of many new recruits.
In line with the Part 145 extension from easyJet to AJW, a successful audit by the CAA acknowledged AJW’s ability to function and process in accordance with the easyJet IT & Quality framework. All AJW’s inspection and AOG staff are receiving 145 training and this is an ongoing process until the entire team is fully accredited.
“Integrated IT systems allow seamless communication and supply chain co-ordination” says
Boris Wolstenholme, CEO of AJW Aviation. “This facilitated the phased Consumables & Expendables transition of 36 easyJet network stations throughout September and the successful transition of easyJet’s rotable component pool to AJW’s HQ near LGW.
“This is a ground-breaking achievement for AJW Group and I am justifiably proud of our team. This contract sends a very clear message to the industry that leading airlines like easyJet are looking for true innovation in the cost-per-flight-hour arena and AJW is pioneering new ways to streamline processes every day.”
The contract covers easyJet’s fleet of 241 aircraft1. During the course of the contract easyJet plans to take delivery of over 100 Airbus A320 family aircraft including 51 Airbus A320neos taking the fleet to 304 aircraft by 2020. Wolstenholme continues “AJW has built fleet escalation into our proposal as well as scaling of infrastructure and technology. We do not underestimate the sustained effort that is required to ensure that that the customer experience with easyJet is exemplary”.
