Baltic Ground Services has extended its cooperation with SkyUp Airlines, an international airline with Ukrainian roots. BGS will supply aviation fuel to the company’s aircraft at Riga (RIX) and Tallinn (TLL) airports. SkyUP Airlines also owns SkyUp Airlines LLC, registered in Ukraine, and SkyUp MT Limited (U5; SEU), registered in Malta (EU). According to the CEO of SkyUp Airlines, the long-term partnership with BGS contributes to the airline's development and operational efficiency.
Vitalis Dūdys, BGS Group Head of Commerce, commented: “Our partnership with SkyUp began in 2022, and the fact that it has continued despite the challenges posed by the current geopolitical situation reflects our mutual trust and commitment to the long-term. The BGS team is ready to ensure smooth operations of SkyUp aircraft at Riga and Tallinn airports, thus contributing to the company’s expansion in the region”.
Dmytro Sieroukhov, CEO of SkyUp Airlines stated: "Since 2022, we have been actively operating in the EU market, consistently expanding our geographical reach. The aviation sector is extremely dynamic, and it is especially important to have a reliable and strong partner. We are confident in our continued partnership with BGS."
In 2021, SkyUp Airlines ranked second among Ukrainian airlines in terms of the number of passengers carried. Since 2022, SkyUp Airlines has begun expanding its international operations by operating flights under ACMI agreements. In 2023, the company received an AOC in Malta, allowing the airline group to operate under the SkyUp Airlines brand while providing scheduled flights in European airspace. Since 2025, SkyUp Airlines is further expanding its operations by launching scheduled flight routes from Moldova and Poland to European cities.
Cooperation with the tour operator Join UP! presented SkyUp Airlines the opportunity to operate flights from Riga and Tallinn airports from May 2022. The partnership with BGS established in November of the same year to this day continues ensuring high-quality and reliable aircraft fuel supply to the airline.
