INTEGRAL E, the electric version of AURA AERO two-seater aircraft designed for training, aerobatics and leisure, performed its first flight today December 3rd, at Toulouse-Francazal airport. More silent and environment-friendly, AURA AERO’s new two-seater paves the way for the decarbonization of light aviation. As in the old times of the great “premieres” of aviation, taking advantage of light winds and favorable weather conditions, the first prototype of INTEGRAL E, registered F-WIAE, took off this morning at 8:48 CET, from Toulouse-Francazal runway.
Jérémy Caussade, President and co-founder of AURA AERO, commented : “It’s a very emotional day for all the AURA AERO teams. The first flight of INTEGRAL E is a huge step forward, not only because the INTEGRAL family is now complete, but also because this aircraft is one of the first to address, in an electric version, many of the needs expressed by training schools and flying clubs. We are very proud of what we have achieved in six years and of the commercial success of the INTEGRAL family. Decarbonization of aviation is now a reality!”.
AURA AERO wishes to thank all its partners and suppliers including The Occitanie Region, France 2030, Safran, EDF, Garmin, EPS and Duc Hélices, for contributing to this success. This flight is a true world premiere, since it paves the way for the decarbonization of light aviation in a new category of aircraft. Upon its entry in service, INTEGRAL E will have a range of around one hour and a supercharging capacity, under 30 minutes. Thanks to its unrivaled performance, the cost per flight hour will be halved, compared to that of a thermal aircraft in its category.
INTEGRAL aircraft are eagerly awaited by flying clubs and training schools across the world and AURA AERO already boasts an orderbook of several hundred aircraft, in the three versions. INTEGRAL E will also be available in a glider tow-plane version. The first deliveries of INTEGRAL R are scheduled to start at the beginning of 2025, and the entry in service of the electric version is scheduled in 2026, after two years of flight tests.
