According to a source in the air circles, the rejection of applications for flights to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh is due to "the absence of a decision by the headquarters on the parameters of the resumption of flights."

On July 8, Russian President Vladimir Putin canceled the decree banning flights to Egyptian resorts, which had been in effect since November 2015.

After the decision to lift the ban, Rospotrebnadzor and Rosturizm held negotiations with the head of the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and agreed to send specialists to the country's resorts to assess the epidemiological situation and control preventive measures in recreation areas. Based on the results of this trip, a decision should be made on the exact date of the launch of the charters and the number of flights.
