FL Technics receives FAA certification for operations in Dominican Republic

FL Technics received approval from the US Federal Aviation Administration to begin providing MRO services for US carriers at its new facility in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The FAA has issued the Part 145 Repair Station Certificate following a thorough, multi-phase review of the hangar located in the Free Trade Zone next to the Punta Cana International Airport.

New FL Technics hangar is located in the Free Trade Zone of Punta Cana International Airport. This location offers direct access to North American air traffic routes and connects easily with the main US East Coast aviation centers. The Punta Cana site now spans 20,000 square meters and is equipped to provide base maintenance for both older and new models, including Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 aircraft.

FL Technics is expanding its presence in Punta Cana by developing a strong local workforce, supported by experienced professionals from its international network. At launch, local employees will work side by side with aviation experts transferred from other company locations, bringing leading technical skills and work practices to the new hangar. Continuous training programs and on-site mentorship will ensure employees have the guidance needed to maintain high safety and quality standards as operations begin.

Earlier this month, FL Technics received approval from the Dominican Republic’s civil aviation authority, IDAC, which strengthens the foundation for future development at the site. Looking ahead, the facility is set to expand from five to as many as twenty bays, increasing capacity to match growing demand. Overall, FL Technics is set on making a long-term investment in the DR, working to become a central maintenance service provider for both US and regional airlines operating throughout the Americas.
